This Privacy Policy describes how Umbra mobile application ("we", "us", "our", "the App") handles information when you use the application.
We are committed to minimal data collection. The App collects and stores only the information strictly necessary for its core functionality.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Username – starts as a default value; you can change it to any name you want
- Fitness activities you choose to save (route, time, distance, parameters, optional photo from gallery)
- Optional photo – only if you select an image from your gallery and decide to save the activity
Permissions We Request
- Camera – used only for scanning QR codes (e.g. to join group activities). We do not take photos or record video.
- Photos / Gallery – used only when you manually choose to attach an existing photo to an activity you are saving.
- Location – used only during active tracking sessions when you start recording and grant permission.
We do not collect:
- Profile picture
- Usage analytics
- Device identifiers beyond what is needed for basic operation
- Any data for advertising, analytics or third-party tracking
2. How We Use Your Information
- To let you record, view and save fitness activities
- To display the route on the map during and after tracking
- To store activities (including optional photo) only when you explicitly choose to save them
- To allow joining group activities via QR code
3. Data Storage
We use Firebase services (Google LLC) as our backend:
- Firestore – stores activity metadata and username
- Cloud Storage – stores photos only for activities you saved
- Authentication – handles sign-in (Google/Apple)

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, share or transfer your personal data to any third parties except:
- Firebase / Google (as technical processor under their terms)
5. Deletion
- You can delete any saved activity at any time – deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- When you delete an activity, all related data (including attached photo) is removed from our servers.
6. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete any activity you saved
- Revoke camera, gallery or location permissions at any time in device settings
- Delete your account

7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we store. No system is completely secure.
8. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be shown in the App.
